Ten quotations from The Frictionary

Here are 10 quotations taken from The Frictionary:

336. Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society. (Mark Twain)

337. The electricity company sends electricity through a wire to a customer, then immediately gets the electricity back through another wire, then (...) sends it right back to the customer again. (Dave Barry)

338. It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle if it is lightly greased. (Kehlog Albran)

This quotation is taken from a little book published in 1973 that was titled "The Profit". It was a spoof of "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran and the author(s) used the pseudonym Kehlog Albran. Some experts believe that Roger Price and Leonard Stern really wrote "The Profit". Price and Stern were co-owners of the company Price Stern Sloan which published the book.
Another source says that Martin A. Cohen and Sheldon Shacket were behind Kehlog Albran.

339. Man is the computer (...) that can be mass produced with unskilled labor. (Wernher von Braun)

340. Never try to outstubborn a cat. (Robert A. Heinlein)

341. If voting could change the system, it would be illegal. (?)

342. We are absolutely certain about one thing, we do not understand. (Eric Hoffer)

343. There is nothing permanent except change. (Heraclitus)

There are many versions of this idea; they were probably inspired by Heraclitus' famous aphorism "Panta Rhei" that says, " Everything flows, nothing stands still."

344. The only time a woman really succeeds in changing a man is when he's a baby. (Natalie Wood)

345. There two great rules of life: never tell everything at once. (Ken Venturi)

That's all for today. Until next time, be happy!
